Writing in the Intersection: Where Poetry and Micro Nonfiction Meet--A Workshop with Cindy Hunter Morgan In-Person

Tuesday, July 30, 2024.  1 p.m.-3 p.m.  Peter White Public Library Shiras Room.  Adults, Seniors, Teens.  In this generative workshop, participants will pair poems and very short nonfiction that "go together." They will think about how these poems and mini essays are built, and then use the work as prompts for their own writing. Participants will also think about the importance of compression and intensity.  Summoning William Carlos Williams's famous assertion, No ideas but in things, they will ponder how to harness imagery of the physical world in service of emotion.  Participants may choose to write poems or very short nonfiction -- or both!  Registration is required.  Space is limited to 25 people.  No admission charge.  For more information, contact Marty at 226-4322, machatz@pwpl.info, or visit pwpl.info to register.
